Tests of IDEPS in oil industry started
IDEPS GmbH specialists have successfully tested the effects of IDEPS on microbial biofilm formed in Diesel B7 fuel.
Samples of biofouling from fuel tanks of European oil companies were taken for the experiment.
- Biofouling without FAME from fuel tank
- Biofouling from fuel tank with Diesel B7 fuel (7%vol. FAME)
The experiment consisted of two stages of testing:
1. Effects of IDEPS directly on biomass sample
2. Effects of IDEPS on biomass sample with fuel.
As a result of the experiment, a complete dissolution of biomass was achieved, regardless of the content of FAME in the fuel.

RESULTS ON THE PHOTO:
1. Solid part of the biofilm taken from each of the samples and placed in IDEPS
INTERMEDIATE STAGE OF DISSOLUTION
COMPLETE DISSOLUTION OF THE BIOFILM
All the samples demonstrated complete dissolution of the biofilm.
Some liquid substance of lower density is observed on the top.
2. Original samples Biofilm in the fuel
BIOFILM IN THE FUEL + IDEPS
The fuel is observed on the top, next the biofilm, next IDEPS.
The biofilm is on the border of the two media - fuel and IDEPS.
INTERMEDIATE GTAGE OF DISSOLUTION
Partial dissolution of the biofilm at the media interface of the fuel and IDEPS.
COMPLETE DISSOLUTION OF THE BIOFILM
All the samples demonstrate complete dissolution of the biofilm.
In sample №1 at the media interface of the fuel and biofilm, some liquid substance of stained color is observed.
IDEPS has effectively removed the biofilm and, accordingly, the source of contamination of the fuel. This is especially important for preventing the failure of fuel filters and other equipment due to biofilm clogging and biofouling.
IDEPS GmbH will continue research activities in this field with the target to expand implementation areas of our substance.
